Prof. Nigel Gilbert was the winner of the First “Rosaria Conte” Outstanding Award for Social Simulation, which was assigned at the Social Simulation Conference 2016 in Rome, 21 Sept 2016. Among the reasons, the ESSA MC mentioned the contribution that Prof. Gilbert made to the birth of social simulation as a research field and a community, not to mention the service he provided to the whole scientific community as editor of the Journal of Artificial Societies and Social Simulation.
