On the occasion of the formation of a Special Interest Group on Social Conflict and Social Simulation (<a href="http://www.essa.eu.org/simulation-wiki/SIGOnSocialConflictAndSocialSimulationSCSS">SIG-SCSS</a>) within the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) we disseminate an open call for papers for presentation at the inaugural panel of the SIG-SCSS at the <a href="http://www.eco.unibs.it/essa/">ESSA 2008</a> ESSA 2008 conference in Brescia, Italy. Papers aimed at reflecting on all aspects thematically relevant to social conflict and social simulation are welcome. <br>

The deadline for submitting a full paper is 1 May 2008. Authors will receive a notification of acceptance by 1 June 2008. Papers are limited to 12 pages (including figures, tables and references) and should be written using the Springer lecture notes <a href="http://www.springer.com/computer/lncs?SGWID=0-164-7-72376-0">template </a>. Papers should be submitted via the official ESSA 2008 conference website stating in parentheses in the paper’s title “SIG-SCSS”. Papers will be peer-reviewed. Once accepted for presentation, paper givers’ names will appear in the official ESSA 2008 program and their papers will be published in the ESSA 2008 proceedings.<br>
