Call for Participation
We are delighted to announce the formation of a Special Interest Group
on Social Conflict and Social Simulation (SIG-SCSS;
http://www.essa.eu.org/simulation-wiki/SIGOnSocialConflictAndSocialSimulationSCSS)
within the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA). We invite
scholars of social conflict /and /social simulation to participate,
register (f.e.h.wijermans@rug.nl) and attend the SIG-SCSS's inaugural
meeting at the ESSA 2008 conference in Brescia, Italy

Call for Papers
To mark the formation of the SIG-SCSS we announce an open call for
papers for the inaugurational panel at the ESSA 2008 conference. Papers
aimed at reflecting on all aspects thematically relevant to social
conflict /and /social simulation are welcome. Full paper deadline (max.

Post Doctoral Research Position in Psychological Agent Based Simulation

The research group Modelling Social Systems at the Department of Systems Analysis, Integrated Assessment and Modelling (http://www.eawag.ch/research_e/siam), at the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology (Eawag; http://www.eawag.ch) would like to appoint a post-doctoral research scientist for agent based modelling of psychological theories. The scientist will do research on agent based models which are based on psychological findings and theories. Emphasis is on developing and analysing models as well as applying them to behavioural change campaigns. The focus will be on processes of persuasion and decision making of consumers.

The duration of the appointment is initially for 1 year with the possibility of extension. The position is available from 1st of March 2008.
