From the editors... ---------------------------------------------------------------- Dear ESSA Members, As most of us are returning from vacations, the first newsletter for 2007 is available for you. We're looking forward to your contributions to the newsletter throughout this year. Best wishes, shah and bogdan ===================================================== 2. ESSA Communications ---------------------------------------------------------------- ESSA promotes Workshops in Social Simulation !!! From 2006, the European Social Simulation Association has a program to promote social simulation and especially to help in the organization of workshops on social simulation in Europe. For 2007, the applications will be examined by the ESSA Management Committee in January 2007. And the allocation will be based on the evaluation committee’s rating of the workshop proposal based on its relevance and its contribution to the field of social simulation. If you plan to organize such a workshop dedicated to subjects linked to social simulation, if you are obviously an ESSA member, and if you want the support of ESSA, please provide to the ESSA Secretary (Frederic.amblard@univ-tlse1.fr ): - a brief description of the event, - an evaluation of the number of attendees, - the total cost of the workshop, - any other source of funding applied for - the amount requested from ESSA. Knowing that ESSA could only provide 50% of the costs and up to 2.000 Euros. To be evaluated on the 2007 session, please submit your project before January 15th , 2007. ===================================================== 3.
