Proposal for session on Cognitive Agents and Social Behaviour at ESSA4 conference in Toulouse ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From SIMSOC posting: Dear SIMSOC members and others that might be interested, Last December, Martin Helmhout and I organised a small workshop entitled ‘*Combining Cognitive Plausibility with Social Realism: Promises and Pitfalls of Multi-Agent Simulation*’. At this workshop a number of presentations focused on modeling cognitive social agents. The main question to be answered was how knowledge from the fields of cognitive psychology and social interaction could be integrated in simulation models. The enthusiasm of the participants, as well as the recent vivid discussions at the SIMSOC-mailing list suggest that this topic deserves more attention. Therefore, I would like to propose a session entitled ‘*Cognitive Agents and Social Behaviour’* to be held at the *ESSA 4 conference in Toulouse*. If you are willing to contribute to this session, please indicate the title of the session, e.g. ‘Cognitive agents and social behaviour’ when you sign in. (Further reading: Sun. R. (Ed. ), /Cognition and Multi-Agent Interaction: From Cognitive Modeling to Social Simulation/, Cambridge University Press, 2006) With best regards, Kees Zoethout -- Dr. Kees Zoethout Assistant Professor Faculty of Management and Organization Dept. of Business Development, University of Groningen P.O.Box 800, 9700 AV Groningen tel: 0031 50 363 2648 / 363 6543 (secr.)
