Professor Carmen Costea is Full Professor of International Commerce and Management at the Academy of Economic Studies Bucharest, Romania.

Deeply involved in scientific research of excellence at national and international level, her current interest is focused on Complex Systems Education and Economics, underlying the design, control and management of complex societal and economic systems, closely connected to the behavioural changes of both customers and companies in order to diminish risks and avoid crises.

In 2007 she founded the Alternative Sciences Association - an international scientific consortium promoting females as scientists, getting senior and young researchers connected for a durable applied excellence scientific work and strengthening the national identity inside the global diversity, by assuming self motivated responsibility.

Professor Costea runs also a ‘Business Club’ for students “Future Managers”, inside the Knowledge Academy where professors, researchers, business owners and students learn together to build a larger sound Team for the Romanian Community sake, using the opportunities provided by alternative sciences (as complexity). Inside this new social team building system they do believe that the societal future existence relies on the way in which Science achievements are applied to Society and its people. 

Science can and may contribute in solving any problems by analyzing causes, recommending the right approaches and finding alternative ways of develop not the Perfect Society but the Right One. Any new results are important, if applied; they will be applied, once they are understood by decision makers and the general public.

These days, more than ever, there is a high need to understand advanced results of science within the high moral standards as the single salvation of the mankind.

Self-motivation by assumed responsibility along with the knowledge and understanding of the new technology and laws of nature are the great awards that scientists expect receiving and share with the Society in a unique way.

Their knowledge, accompanied by relative independence of decision-makers, enables the academic freedom and the power for transforming their dreams not into the ideal but the sound reality.
