Aims and Scope

Project Management is an organizational discipline with a fantastic growth in the last two decades. There are some world conferences, but there is a gap for short meetings where professionals and researchers exchange their knowledge and advances for the new era. This event proposes a one-and-half day workshop to debate on current issues in Project Management, both, in construction and engineering industries. The main idea is to promote a forum where novel research and professional practices can be deeply discussed to provide efficient solutions and new tools in this discipline.

The range of technical issues that Project Management has dealt with, and continues to deal with, is quite diverse and extensive. Relevant topics to this workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:

Methodologies:
- standards for project management
- methodologies for project management
- platforms and software tools for project management
- knowledge management
- new trends in project management

Applications
- Controlling and monitoring projects
- project finance
- project portfolio
- successful cases in project management
- complexity in project management

All of these topics are important for both the Project Management professionals and researchers. Without limiting the range of traditional topics addressed in this area, in this workshop we also expect to challenge the community to submit the latest results in one additional area:

Project Management in education: Opportunities and challenges

The bulk of material produced for educational and pedagogical goals is becoming quite significant. The potential for cross-fertilization between different cultures in Project Management may well be of significant interest. As Project Management courses and Master offer is growing, we have the opportunity to exchange some good practices in a benchmarking session that can provide mutual benefits.
